Thiruvannamalai is a 2008 Indian Tamil-language action film written and directed by Perarasu.
The film stars Arjun in dual roles, with Pooja Gandhi and P. Sai Kumar playing supporting roles. The music was composed by Srikanth Deva.
Easwaran, played by Arjun, is an upright, honest youth who runs a local cable channel in Kumbakonam. He fights for causes of the society and the common man, but his actions attract the attention of corrupt MLA Poongundran.
After exposing Poongundran's corrupt ways through his cable TV channel, Easwaran is forced to flee. His mother Alamelu takes him to a saint in Thiruvannamalai, where they meet Guruji, who resembles Easwaran. A series of events forces them to swap places.
The soft-spoken Swami tries to sort all issues through non-violent means (Gandhian philosophy). However, Duraisingam's death in the hands of Poongundran marks a turning point in the story.
Thiruvannamalai was released on 19 December 2008 and was a decent hit at the box-office. It was later dubbed in Hindi as Main Hoon Vinashak and in Telugu as Jai Sambasiva.
