Thirisoolam is a 1979 Indian Tamil-language film directed by K. Vijayan and starring Sivaji Ganesan.
The movie features Sivaji Ganesan playing three distinct roles: Rajasekaran, Sumathi, and Shankar. It serves as a remake of the 1978 Kannada film "Shankar Guru".
In the plot, Rajasekaran shoots an associate during an argument over shady business dealings and flees, losing contact with his pregnant wife Sumathi. Years later, Sumathi is living in Delhi with their son Shankar.
Rajasekaran becomes a wealthy Kashmir estate owner, while Shankar manages his uncle's affairs in Kashmir. Nalini, Rajasekaran's niece, introduces Shankar to M, leading to romantic entanglements.
The film was released on 27 January 1979 and became a silver jubilee hit, running for over 175 days in theatres and becoming the highest grossing Tamil film at the time of its release.
