Thedi Vandha Mappillai is a 1970 Tamil-language film directed by B. R. Panthulu and produced by himself. The film stars M. G. Ramachandran, Jayalalithaa, S. A. Ashokan, Major Sundarrajan, M. V. Rajamma, and Cho Ramaswamy.
The plot revolves around Solaimalai's eldest daughter being kidnapped, who is later saved by a passerby and raised as his own child. The story takes a turn when Solaimalai's wife, Chellam, falls down stairs due to grief and attempts to murder her husband or his boss out of guilt over their misfortunes.
The film is a remake of Panthulu's 1967 Kannada film Beedi Basavanna. It was released on August 29, 1970, and won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Film.
