Thayumanavar is a 1938 Indian Tamil-language film produced and directed by T. R. Sundaram.
The film stars M. M. Dandapani Desikar as Thayumanavar, a renowned Hindu Saint and Philosopher from the 18th century.
Muthukrishnan Naiker served as the ruler of Tiruchirapalli, who visited the Vedaranyam temple and was impressed by its Dharmakartha (trustee), appointing him to his court ministry.
After Muthukrishnan Naiker's death, his son ascended the throne and named his minister after himself, calling him Thayumanavan.
The young Thayumanavan was exceptionally brilliant as a minister but remained deeply devoted to philosophy and spirituality.
His divine powers attracted the attention of the king, who became his disciple.
Thayumanavan performed numerous miracles during this time.
