Thanikattu Raja is a 1982 Indian Tamil-language action film directed by V.C. Guhanathan and produced by D. Ramanaidu.
The film stars Rajinikanth as Soori, a rebellious mechanic who fights for justice, alongside Sridevi as Vaani, the daughter of a wealthy man. Jaishankar plays Ethiraj, a rich and roguish man who marries Vaani to save Soori from execution.
The plot involves Soori's love interest with Vaani, which is thwarted by her father's manager, portrayed by Vijayakumar among others. In response, Soori commits murder, leading to his sentencing to death. After serving time and being released, Soori is left heartbroken over the loss of Vaani.
The film features music by Ilaiyaraaja and cinematography handled by P.S. Nivas. Sripriya also appears in supporting roles alongside Vijayakumar, Y.G. Mahendran, and Sathyakala.
