
Thamizh is a 2002 Indian Tamil-language action drama film directed by Hari in his directorial debut.
The film stars Prashanth and Simran alongside J. Livingston, Vadivelu, Urvashi, Nassar, and Ashish Vidyarthi.
Anbazhagan returns home from Kuwait after three years of separation from his family, only to discover that his younger brother Thamizh is missing. As tensions rise, a riot breaks out outside their house, claiming the life of their neighbor Moorthy and his pregnant sister.
Thamizh intervenes to stop the violence, earning the wrath of Periyavar. The film was released on April 14, 2002, to positive reviews from critics and became a commercial success at the box office.
The music for the film was composed by Bharadwaj, while Priyan handled cinematography and V. T. Vijayan edited the movie. Produced by Amudha Durairaj under Deivanai Movies, Thamizh marked Hari's directorial debut.
