Thairiyam is a 2010 Indian Tamil-language action film written and directed by P. Kumaran.
The film stars Deepu and Karthika, with P. Kumaran also playing a role. The story revolves around Kumaran saving his girlfriend Deepu from the menacing Riyaz Khan, who later slips into a coma after a duel with Kumaran.
However, the plot takes a turn as all of Riyaz' friends are killed, and several twists and turns involving the evil-minded villain Kamaraj form the crux of the film. Kamaraj, a three-time Mr India title winner, plays the antagonist.
The film was released on 29 January 2010 and went through changes in production, including a silent change of director prior to release due to M. Sarojkumar's ill health. A stunt sequence towards the climax was shot for over 15 days involving hundreds of extras.
