Thaikkupin Tharam is a 1956 Indian Tamil-language film marking the directorial debut of M. A. Thirumugam and produced by Sandow M. M. A. Chinnappa Thevar through his newly established Thevar Films.
The story revolves around two families in conflict, with Ratnam Pillai's family including their brave son, Muthaiyan, and highly respected mother, Meenakshi. Doraiswami, the brother of Meenakshi, is despised for his arrogance, cruelty, and dishonourable actions.
Despite this conflict, Sivakami, Doraiswami's daughter, harbours affection for Muthaiyan. The film depicts their determination to overcome societal and familial hurdles to marry each other.
The film stars M. G. Ramachandran and P. Bhanumathi in the lead roles. Released on September 21, 1956, it was a significant success, running for over 100 days in theatres.
