Sumangali is a 1983 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed and produced by D. Yoganand. The film stars Sivaji Ganesan, Sujatha, Prabhu, and Geetha.
The story revolves around Ramu, a BA graduate who drives a lorry for a living, and his love for singer/dancer Roopadevi. Despite their close friendship, Roopadevi develops romantic feelings for Ramu, but he is already in love with Thulasi. When Ramu marries Thulasi, his boss arranges for him to die on his next trip, leading to a series of tragic events.
The film was released on 12 August 1983 and serves as a remake of the Hindi film Aasha (1980).
