Synopsis
Sorgavasal is a 1954 Indian Tamil-language historical drama film directed by A. Kasilingam and written by C. N. Annadurai, credited as Arignar Anna for the first time in this production.
The main cast includes K. R. Ramasamy as Madivannan, Padmini as Queen Kumara Devi, S. S. Rajendran as Muthu Manikam, and Anjali Devi as Thilagavathy. Other credited actors are R. Balasubramaniam as the Court Priest and P. S. Veerappa as King Vetrivelan.
The film is based on C. N. Annadurai's play of the same name and was released on May 28, 1954. Due to political controversies and censorship issues upon release, numerous scenes were cut from the final version.
