Sontham is a 1973 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by A. C. Tirulokchandar.
The film stars Muthuraman and K. R. Vijaya, with its story originating from a play of the same name written by Karaikudi Narayanan.
Major Sundarrajan, who played the lead in the original stage production, was replaced by Muthuraman for this adaptation, while Sivakumar reprised his role. The music is scored by M. S. Viswanathan with lyrics penned by Kannadasan.
The film is based on the play of the same name by Karaikudi Narayanan and follows the story of Manickam and Vairam who get married but soon separate due to misunderstandings, before Manickam remarries Thangam, who dies leaving behind a daughter.
Sontham was released on 6 July 1973. The film received positive reviews from critics, with Kanthan writing that it is "lively without being sluggish" in his review for Kalki.
