Sivagangai Seemai is a 1959 Indian Tamil-language historical drama film directed by K. Shankar and written by Kannadasan.
The film stars S. S. Rajendran, S. Varalakshmi, Kamala Lakshmanan, and M. N. Rajam, and depicts events following the execution of Veerapandiya Kattabomman in 1799.
After the execution, Chinna Marudhu gives asylum to Kattabomman's brother Oomadurai, leading to a conflict where the British attack Sivaganga in 1801 after receiving asylum for Kattabomman's alleged followers.
The story highlights the success of the Maruthu Pandiyars and their allies against the British forces, detailing how they captured three districts before the Crown sent additional troops.
