Singaravelan is a 1992 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film directed by R.V. Udayakumar and written from a story by Panchu Arunachalam.
The film stars Kamal Haasan as Singaravelan, also known as Velan, alongside Khushbu in the lead role.
Velan's task is to locate his estranged urban cousin and marry her, thereby reuniting their separated family. The movie follows the story of a villager whose father died heartbroken because their marriage was not accepted by his mother-in-law.
The film was produced by R.D. Bhaskar under the banner of Pavalar Creations and features a soundtrack composed by Ilaiyaraaja.
Abdul Rahman handled cinematography, while B. Lenin and V. T. Vijayan handled editing respectively.
Singaravelan was released on 13 April 1992 and became a hit at the box office.
