Simma Soppanam is an Indian Tamil-language film released on June 30, 1984, directed by Vijay Krishnaraj and produced by S. S. Karuppa Sami.
The movie stars Sivaji Ganesan as a dedicated communist labour lawyer who fights against corrupt industrialists. His number two, portrayed by Major Sundarajan, betrays him in the pursuit of power, leading to the loss of the protagonist's hand and causing his disillusionment with the cause, resulting in him quitting.
The film also features Prabhu as the hero's son, adding a romantic angle to the story. K.R. Vijaya and Radha are part of the main cast. The soundtrack was composed by K. V. Mahadevan, with lyrics penned by Vaali.
