Simla Special is a 1982 Indian Tamil-language comedy film directed by Muktha Srinivasan and starring Kamal Haasan.
The plot revolves around Gopu, a theatre artist played by Kamal Haasan, who partners with his friend Babu to perform low-budget comedy plays. To assist Babu financially for his sister's wedding, they take on the commission of performing these shows in Simla for the Tamil community.

The film follows Gopu's dilemma when he receives a telegram informing him of his mother's serious illness but fears losing the money from breaking their contract to help Babu. He initially keeps this secret from Babu before eventually deciding against reneging due to Babu's sister's needs.
