Sigappu Rojakkal is a 1978 Indian Tamil-language psychological thriller film co-directed and co-written by Bharathiraja.
The film stars Kamal Haasan in the lead role alongside Sridevi, with supporting performances from Goundamani, Bhagyaraj, and Vadivukkarasi.
The movie tells the story of Dileep, a seemingly ordinary man who hides a sinister secret: he kills women after intimate encounters with them.
Bharathiraja drew inspiration for this urban setting film from the crimes of serial killer Raman Raghav and another local serial killer originating from Tirunelveli.
Technically, Bhagyaraj handled the dialogues, P. S. Nivas was responsible for cinematography, and Ilaiyaraaja composed the music.
The film was released on 28 October 1978, three days before Diwali, and achieved significant success by running continuously in most theatres across Tamil Nadu for a duration of 175 days.
