Seetha Kalyanam is a 1934 Tamil-language Hindu mythological film produced by Prabhat Film Company and directed by Baburao Pendharkar and K. Ramnoth.
The film stars S. Rajam as Rama and S. Jayalakshmi as Sita in the lead roles, alongside V. Sundaram Iyer as King Janaka and T. V. Seetharama Iyer as Dasaratha.
Based on the epic Ramayana, the film depicts the story of Sita's swayamvara, where her father, King Janaka, holds a contest for suitors to lift Shiva Dhanush (Shiva's bow) and win her hand. Rama succeeds in lifting the bow, leading to his marriage with Sita.
Notably, Seetha Kalyanam was the first Tamil-language feature film to be released in colour, utilizing hand-colouring techniques. It was later remade in Telugu under the same title.
