Sathi Leelavathi is a 1936 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by Ellis R. Dungan, marking his directorial debut.
The story revolves around Krishnamurthy (played by M.K. Radha), a man from Madras who succumbs to alcohol and believes he has murdered someone in a drunken state, leading him to flee to Ceylon. Meanwhile, his wife Leelavathi (M.R. Gnanambal) and daughter face poverty in his absence.
The film is based on S. S. Vasan's novel of the same name, which had been serialised in 1934. The story follows Krishnamurthy as he is lured into drinking alcohol by an acquaintance, leading to a tragic event that drives him away from home.
A. N. Marudachalam Chettiar produced the film, and it features supporting roles for T. S. Balaiah, M. G. Ramachandran, M. V. Mani, and P. Nammalvar.
