Sankarlal is a 1981 Indian action film produced by T. N. Balu and written and directed by him before his death during production, with completion handled by N. K. Viswanathan.
The film stars Kamal Haasan in dual roles as Dharmalingam (the father) and Mohan (the son).
The plot revolves around Dharmalingam being framed for murder by a criminal named Chelladurai, resulting in his imprisonment while his wife and children are separated. Years later, the vengeful Dharmalingam returns under the alias Sankarlal to confront Chelladurai.
Meanwhile, Chelladurai kidnaps Hema for ransom, and her father commissions Mohan to rescue her. This leads to a situation where Dharmalingam (as Sankarlal) and his own son Mohan are set against each other, forcing the latter into action while the former seeks retribution.
The film was simultaneously shot in Telugu-language as Andagaadu with Allu Rama Lingaiah and Rao Gopal Rao. It begins with an ordinary man Dharmalingam vacationing in Ooty with his family where he is framed for murder by a criminal named Chelladurai.
