Rohini is a 1953 Indian Tamil-language film directed by Kamal Ghosh and produced by S. Mukherjee.
The movie adapts Bankim Chandra Chatterjee's novel 'Krishnakanter Vil'. It stars S. V. Ranga Rao and Madhuri Devi, with the third credited cast member listed as 'S. A.'. The plot involves a wealthy zamindar who writes a will to distribute his property unequally among his family members due to their negative traits towards him.
His son manipulates Rohini, his sister who is a widow, into stealing and forging the original will in favour of himself. However, upon learning about her brother's deceitful plan regarding the inheritance, Rohini decides to rectify her mistake by trying to replace the forged document with the genuine one.
When she is caught red-handed during this attempt, it triggers a series of events including her kidnapping and an unfortunate murder within the family structure depicted in the story.
The film was released on 5 November 1953 and failed commercially.
