Raman Ethanai Ramanadi is a 1970 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by P. Madhavan and written by Bala Murugan.
The film stars Sivaji Ganesan, K. R. Vijaya, and Muthuraman, and tells the story of "Saappattu" Raman, a village bumpkin who rises to become a movie star after a life-changing incident.
Raman's journey begins in the village Poongudi, where he was raised by his grandmother after losing his parents in childhood. A seizure leads him to fall into the village tank, but is saved by Devaki, the younger sister of Minor Rajarathnam, a wealthy zamindar.
The film was released on August 15, 1970 and became a commercial success, running for over 100 days in theatres. It won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil.
