Raja Raja Chozhan is a 1973 Indian Tamil-language historical biographical film directed by A. P. Nagarajan and written by Aru Ramanathan. The movie stars Sivaji Ganesan in the titular role as Emperor Rajaraja I.
The film was based on Ramanathan's play of the same name about the life of Rajaraja I and was the first Tamil CinemaScope film. It tells the story of Rajaraja during the construction of the Brihadeswara Temple in Thanjavur, where he greets everyone except a sculptor deeply focused on his work.
The narrative also features Rajendra, the king's son, leading the Chola army to help Eastern Chalukya kings Sakthivarman and Vimalathithan reclaim their kingdom from Satyasiriyan. The film was released on March 31, 1973, and ran for over 100 days in theatres.
