Punnagai Desam is a 2002 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film directed by K. Shajahan.
The film stars Tarun as Ganesh, who comes to Chennai with the hope of meeting his maternal uncle Rajarathinam following his mother's sudden death. Ganesh helps his friends Selvam, Raja Naidu, and Vijay by selling his mother's chain and setting up a small roadside food business.
The film follows the journey of the four friends as they overcome their struggles and achieve success. Meanwhile, Priya (Sneha), who is Ganesh's childhood friend Bomma, develops feelings for him.
The movie features an ensemble cast, including Devan, Nizhalgal Ravi, Vinu Chakravarthy, and Malaysia Vasudevan in supporting roles. The soundtrack is composed by S. A. Rajkumar, with cinematography handled by R. Madhi and editing by V. Jaishankar.
Punnagai Desam was produced by R. B. Choudary under the production banner Super Good films and was released on January 14, 2002. The film did reasonable business at the box-office and was remade in Telugu in 2007 with the title Nava Vasantham.
