Punjab Kesari is a 1938 Tamil-language thriller film directed by Fram Sethna and adapted from Te. Po. Krishnasami Pavalar's play.
The story revolves around Sundaranathan, who falls in love with Padma Bai, the daughter of wealthy man Somanathan Prabhu. A villainous gang plots to marry her for her wealth and frames Sundaranathan, leading to his arrest.
Rescuing the situation is a doctor who hires detective Punjab Kesari to investigate and expose the villain's identity and motive before he can marry Padma Bai.
In the end, Sundaranathan is cleared of all suspicion and gets to marry Padma Bai. The film stars K. P. Kesavan, P. U. Chinnappa, A. K. Rajalakshmi, Kali N. Rathnam, and H. H. Sarma.
