Pudhiya Boomi (1968), also known as Puthiya Bhoomi, is an Indian Tamil-language film directed by Kalki and starring M. G. Ramachandran and Jayalalithaa in lead roles.
The plot revolves around Dr. Katheeravan, a cardiologist and heart surgeon, whose father is an honest police officer. He encounters Kangeyan, a criminal, whom he saves from harm. This creates conflict as Kangeyan learns his savior is the son of the officer actively pursuing him.
Simultaneously, Kangeyan's deputy attempts to kill Katheeravan by tampering with his car brakes, leading to an accident. Following this incident, Katheeravan finds himself in a village where he meets Kannamma and develops feelings for her.
The film's music was composed by M. S. Viswanathan. It is a remake of the Hindi film Himalay Ki God Mein (1965). The movie was released on 27 June 1968.
