Priya is an Indian Tamil thriller film directed by S. P. Muthuraman, starring Rajinikanth, Sridevi, Ambareesh, and Aznah Hamid.
The film was partially reshot in Kannada language with Shivaram and K. S. Ashwath replacing Major Sundarrajan and K. Natraj respectively, while all other scenes were dubbed from the Tamil original.
The movie shares its name with a novel by Sujatha, but adapts from multiple works by the writer, including the aforementioned novel.
The film was released on 22 December 1978 in Tamil and 12 January 1979 in Kannada. It was also dubbed and released in Telugu as Ajeyudu on 10 March 1979, and in Hindi as Love in Singapore in 1983.
The soundtrack of this film is recorded using stereophonic sound technology for the first time in Tamil cinema.
