Pooveli

Pooveli is a 1998 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film directed by Selva and starring Karthik, Abbas, Kausalya, and Heera Rajagopal.

The film tells the story of four characters with different opinions on love, whose lives become intertwined. Maha (Kausalya) believes one must love before marriage, while Shalini (Heera) thinks love is for after the wedding. Radha Ravi opposes love, viewing it as a way children cheat their parents, and Murali (Karthik) is in favor of it.

Murali follows Shalini around expressing his love for her, but she insults him, leading to a promise that he won't trouble her again. He then encounters Maha, his classmate from school, and the story unfolds as their paths continue to cross.

The film was released on 4 December 1998 and is an unofficial remake of A Walk in the Clouds (1995) with an Indian twist.
