Poompavai is a 1944 Indian Tamil-language film directed by T. Balaji Singh and the duo Krishnan–Panju in their directorial debut. The film was produced under the Leo Films banner and stars K. R. Ramaswamy as Sivanesan Chettiar, alongside U. R. Jeevarathnam, K. Sarangapani, K. R. Chellam, and S. V. Sahasranamam.
The plot revolves around Poompavai, the daughter of Sivanesan Chettiar from Mylai, who is banished by the chieftain of Mylai after her father gives a ruby to Shiva in the guise of a sadhu, only to discover that his daughter had already given it away. The family then meets Thirugnanar Sambandar, a saint to whom Poompavai is devoted.
The film was released in August 1944 and became a success under the Leo Films banner.
