Synopsis
Pongalo Pongal is a 1997 Indian Tamil-language comedy film directed by V. Sekhar.
The film stars Vignesh, Vadivelu, Charle, Chinni Jayanth, and Vivek, with Sangita Madhavan Nair, Kovai Sarala, Indhu, and Latha playing the female leads.
Supporting roles are done by Malaysia Vasudevan, Thyagu, Rajesh, and Vennira Aadai Moorthy. The film had music by Deva, cinematography by G. Rajendran, and editing by A. P. Manivannan.
The story revolves around four friends - Subramani, Vellaisamy, Arumugam, and Ponrasu - who are graduates but cannot find jobs due to their poor families' expectations. They enlist the help of Chitra, a college mate, to start a business, but her rich father tries to stop them from taking his profits.
The film was released on 9 May 1997 and became a commercial success.
