Ponnu Vilayum Boomi is a 1959 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by A. Bhimsingh and starring Gemini Ganesan and Padmini.
The story revolves around Nagan, an honest farmer in Vayalur who considers his land sacred. He marries Muthamma, a pretty housemaid whose father has abandoned her to Malaysia, after borrowing money from the rich Balakotinathar to facilitate their wedding. The family later has a son named Inban, but difficulties arise when Nagan cannot repay the loan, leading to threats of legal action and consideration of abandoning the village.
