Ponvayal (transl. Golden Farm) is a 1954 Indian Tamil-language film directed by A. T. Krishnaswamy and produced by T. R. Ramachandran.
The film is based on the story 'Poimaan Karadu' serialized in Kalki magazine, which revolves around Sengodan who owns ten acres known as Ponvayal, rumored to hide buried gold.
Esraj, a counterfeiter, attempts to retrieve the treasure with the help of Bangaru and his lover. The policeman and an actress work against them; while the couple outsmarts Esraj, Sengodan is falsely accused and arrested for attempting Bangaru's murder before being exonerated.
The film stars T. R. Ramachandran and Anjali Devi, and was released on 12 February 1954. Unfortunately, it failed commercially and has since been lost.
