Pollachi Mappillai is a 2010 Indian Tamil language comedy film directed by R. Lakshmanan.
The film features Sathyaraj and Goundamani in lead roles, with Susan playing a pivotal role. It was produced by Mangai Harirajan and had a musical score by Deva.
Television serial director Mangai Harirajan chose to make the film after an early 2005 venture titled Kootani Aatchi fell through. The project meant that Sathyaraj and Harirajan agreed to shelve another film they were making together, Perumal Samy. Lakshmanan, an associate to Sundar C, was selected to make his debut as director.
The team chose to change the film's title from Kovai Express to Pollachi Mappillai and roped in Susan, who had appeared in Neranja Manasu (2004), to play heroine. The film was released on 16 July 2010 after several delays and received positive reviews, but it was a flop at the box office.
