Pokkiri Raja is a 1982 Indian Tamil-language action comedy film directed by S. P. Muthuraman and written by Panchu Arunachalam.
The story follows Ramesh, an office manager for industrialist Paranthaman, who suspects his relatives are embezzling from the company. After exposing the culprit, he faces enmity from these relatives, Venkatachalam and Chandran. He develops a relationship with Paranthaman's daughter Vanaja (portrayed by Sridevi). However, when Paranthaman discovers Ramesh cheating on his daughter, he fires him.
Shortly after, Paranthaman is murdered, and Sridevi finds Ramesh at her house. Ramesh is accused in court and framed for murder. Distressed, Sridevi is pressured by the relatives to marry Y. G. Mahendran's son. Meanwhile, Ramesh meets another man named Raja (also played by Rajinikanth) who looks exactly like him while incarcerated.
In a twist, Ramesh and this lookalike Raja devise a plan to clear their names and bring the actual culprits to justice.
