Synopsis
Petrathai (1953) is an Indian Telugu-language drama film produced and directed by K. S. Prakash Rao.
The main cast includes Akkineni Nageswara Rao and G. Varalakshmi, with Pendyala composing the music for the film. Notably, it marks the feature film debut of popular singer P. Susheela and actress Rajasulochana.
The film tells the story of a wealthy couple, Chalapathi and Shantamma, who lead a happy family life with their two sons, Ramu and Shankar. However, Chalapathi's squandering of their fortune and subsequent disappearance leads to dire straits for the family. In this challenging situation, Shantamma courageously takes charge and raises her children. Witnessing her struggles, the elder son, Ramu, resolves to ensure his brother, Shankar, receives a good education.
