Periyanna

Periyanna is a 1999 Indian Tamil-language action drama film directed by S. A. Chandrasekhar and starring Suriya, Meena, Manasa, and Vijayakanth in an extended cameo role.

The film tells the story of a prisoner who falls in love with the district collector's daughter while giving her music lessons. They elope to a village, where they befriend the village chief who vows to get them married.

Along the way, they witness a murder at a railway station and discover that the killer is the village chief. The movie features Suriya as the protagonist, with Vijayakanth in an extended cameo role as the title character.

The soundtrack for this film was composed by debutant music director Bharani. The film was released on 14 April 1999.
