Periya Thambi is a 1997 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed and co-produced by Chitra Lakshmanan.
The film stars Prabhu and Nagma, with Thalaivasal Vijay playing Siva's father Soundarapandian, a police officer. The story follows Siva as he travels to his family's village after learning that his father will not invite his family to Geetha's wedding.
Upon arrival, Siva is insulted by his uncle Sankarapandian (Vijayakumar), but welcomed by his aunt Kamachi (Vadivukkarasi). He soon falls in love with Kamachi's daughter Selvi (Nagma). The film explores how Siva reconciles with his uncle and marries Selvi.
The music for the film was composed by Deva, with lyrics written by Vairamuthu. Periya Thambi was released on January 14, 1997, alongside Minsara Kanavu and Iruvar.
