
Pen Singam is a 2010 Indian Tamil-language film directed by Bali Srirangam and produced by S. P. Murugesan.
The film stars Uday Kiran, Meera Jasmine, Richard, Rambha, and debutant Sudharsana Sen, with Vivek and Radha Ravi playing supporting roles.
The music was composed by Deva, while the cinematography was handled by Vijay Ragav.
The film is based on M. Karunanidhi's novel Surulimalai and released on 3 June 2010, coinciding with Karunanidhi's 87th birthday.
The story follows Surya, a friend of Nagendran, who runs into trouble with Simha Perumal and his gang. Nagendran makes a speech about the importance of education in marriage, which inspires Mythilli to fall for him. Mythilli is a rich daughter of an inherited father, and Surya helps Nagendran get married. However, on their first night together, Nagendran demands dowry from Mythilli, leading to a tragic turn of events that frames Surya for her murder instead.
