Pavai Vilakku is a 1960 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by K. Somu and written by A. P. Nagarajan.
The film stars Sivaji Ganesan, Sowcar Janaki, Pandari Bai, M. N. Rajam, and Kumari Kamala.
The movie is based on Akilan's novel of the same name, which was serialized in the Tamil magazine Kalki.
Paavai Vilakku tells the story of Thanikachalam, a married man who falls for several women, including Sengamalam, Devaki, and Uma. Despite his attraction to them, he chooses to treat them as family members due to his existing marriage and responsibilities.
The film follows the tragic consequences of Thanikachalam's choices, including an accident that results in the death of his daughter Kalyani, and the subsequent struggles of those around him.
