Pattikada Pattanama is a 1972 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film produced and directed by P. Madhavan.
The film stars Sivaji Ganesan and Jayalalithaa, telling the story of Kalpana, an urban woman who marries Mookaiyan, a villager. Their differing perspectives on city life versus village traditions create conflict in their marriage, leading to separation.
The narrative explores whether Kalpana will undergo personal change and reconcile with her husband. The film is based on the William Shakespeare comedy "The Taming of the Shrew" and was released on 6 May 1972.
Pattikada Pattanama was commercially successful, running for over 175 days in theatres, and became a silver jubilee film. It won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil and two Filmfare Awards South: Best Film – Tamil.
