
Paruthiveeran is a 2007 Indian Tamil-language romantic action drama film written and directed by Ameer.
The film stars Karthi in his feature film debut as the title character, with Priyamani as the female lead. Ponvannan, Saravanan, Ganja Karuppu, Sampath Raj, and Sujatha Sivakumar play supporting roles.
Produced by Ameer, the film features a soundtrack and score composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography by Ramji, and editing by Raja Mohammad. The film was entirely shot in Madurai and its surroundings.
The story follows Paruthiveeran, a country brash man who bullies villagers for money, women, and fun. He lives with his doting uncle Chevvaazhai, who pampers him. His cousin Muththazhagu is the daughter of a caste fanatic who falls in love with him despite her parents' disapproval.
Muththazhagu is kidnapped and brutally raped, prompting Paruthiveeran to chop her corpse into pieces after she requests it. However, he is later found by her father and relatives, leading to his death.
