Synopsis
Parthen Rasithen is a 2000 Indian Tamil-language romantic thriller film written and directed by Saran.
The film stars Prashanth, Simran, and Laila, with Raghuvaran, Jai Ganesh, Vinu Chakravarthy, Vaiyapuri, Charle, Dhamu, Lawrence Raghavendra, Fathima Babu, and Jyothi playing supporting roles.
The film narrates the love story of Shankar (Prashanth) with Sarika (Laila), but problems and misunderstandings plague their romance. Bhanu (Simran), Shankar's best friend, also falls in love with him and schemes to get him to fall in love with her.
The film was released on 11 August 2000 and received positive critical reception, particularly for Simran's performance. It became a sleeper hit and achieved a blockbuster run at the box office, leading to a Telugu remake titled Naa Manasistha Raa (2001).
