Pankajavalli is a 1947 Indian Tamil-language film written, produced and directed by S. Soundararajan.
The film tells the story of Arjuna, who attempts to conquer Pankajavalli but is captured instead. He then prays to Krishna for help, leading to his transformation into the female Brihannala.
Key figures in its production include director S. Soundararajan and composer Papanasam Sivan, whose assistant also contributed significantly to the music alongside actor-producer P. U. Chinnappa.
The film features P. U. Chinnappa as Arjuna, T. R. Rajakumari as Pankajavalli, and Kumari Rukmani in the role of Krishna. Notably, Kumari Rukmani portrayed a male deity (Krishna) which was an unusual choice for that time.
The film is inspired by Ayyangar's adaptation of the Kerala folktale Malayala Pankajavalli and was released on 5 February 1947.
