Padithal Mattum Podhuma is a 1962 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film written and directed by A. Bhimsingh.
The film stars Sivaji Ganesan, K. Balaji, Savitri, M. R. Radha, and Rajasulochana.
Based on the 1961 novel Naa by Bengali writer Tarashankar Bandopadhyay, the story revolves around cousins Raju and Gopal, who are very attached to each other.
Gopal, a school dropout, marries Sita, the girl originally earmarked for his cousin Raju. However, their marriage is put to test when Raju's selfish move is revealed, leading to a series of events that ultimately lead to Gopal's imprisonment.
The film was released on 14 April 1962 and became a commercial success, running for more than 100 days at all centres in Tamil Nadu.
