Synopsis
Paattu Padava is a 1995 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film directed by B. R. Vijayalakshmi in her directorial debut.
The film stars S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, Rahman, and newcomer Lavanya Rajesh, with Janagaraj, Kalyan Kumar, Mohan Natarajan, Chinni Jayanth, Srividya, C. R. Saraswathi, and Sabitha Anand playing supporting roles.
The movie follows the story of Rishi, a doctor in a mental hospital who treats his patients like family; Devi, a social worker and joyful woman who visits the hospital often; and Murali, a mute patient whose true nature is known only to the director, Rangarajan.
Devi befriends Rishi after a quarrel, and becomes intrigued by Murali, spending more time with him. As she gets to know Murali better, he slowly falls in love with her.
The film was released on 10 February 1995 and was an average grosser at the box office.
