Oru Thai Makkal (Sons of a Mother) is a 1971 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy drama film directed by P. Neelakantan.
The film stars M. G. Ramachandran, with supporting roles played by M. N. Nambiar and Jayalalithaa, who later became Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
The movie is a remake of the 1964 Hindi film Ayee Milan Ki Bela.
The plot revolves around Kannan, a manager at a collective farm, who falls in love with Radha. Ravi, Radha's cousin and nephew of Selvanayagam (Radha's father), arrives from London to be part of the farm community. Rathnam, an officer at the farm, is revealed as a corrupt drunkard when he steals and sells paddy.
Kannan sacks Rathnam but keeps his reasons secret. During a night inspection on new farmland, Ravi witnesses Kannan and Radha talking intimately, realizing their relationship. The film explores themes of love, family connections (Ravi being adopted by Radha's aunt), and workplace corruption within the collective farm setting.
The film was released on 9 December 1971.
