Oru Kai Osai is a 1980 Indian Tamil-language film directed by K. Bhagyaraj and starring himself and Ashwini.
The film follows Dr. Amaravathi, who seeks a peaceful life in the village of Vellankoil after rejecting other options. She witnesses Chinna Pannai attempting to commit suicide on a railway track, but fate intervenes, saving his life. Amaravathi soon uses her medical skills to help others, including treating a child who fell from a tree.
As Amaravathi continues to encounter Chinna Pannai's botched suicide attempts, she confronts him and learns about the traumatic childhood experience that has led to his disability. The film features unique characterisation and an unexpected climax.
Oru Kai Osai was released on July 25, 1980, and was remade in Telugu as Pranaya Geetham in 1981.
