Nilave Mugam Kaattu is a 1999 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film directed by Kalanjiyam.
The film stars Karthik, Ramki and Devayani, and is a remake of the Kannada film Anuraga Sangama (1995), which was inspired by Charlie Chaplin's City Lights.
The title of this film is derived from the song in Rajinikanth starrer Yajaman, composed by Ilaiyaraaja himself.
The story follows Murthy and Prakash, who become best friends after Prakash takes Murthy into his house despite his father's refusal. However, Prakash's parents disapprove of their son's friendship with Murthy due to social status issues.
A few years later, when Prakash goes to the US to study, he scolds Murthy and plans to make him leave their house. Murthy feels bad and decides to leave without informing anyone.
