Synopsis
Nichaya Thamboolam is a 1962 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film directed and produced by B. S. Ranga.
The film stars Sivaji Ganesan and Jamuna, and was released on 9 February 1962 in Telugu as Pelli Thambulam.
The movie tells the story of Raghu, a senior police officer with a spoilt son, who falls in love with Seetha, the daughter of a poor teacher. The families are related, but due to their status, they have been estranged from each other. When Seetha was born, both parents agreed that she should be married to Raghu and exchanged the Nichaya Thamboolam.
Raghu marries Seetha and begets a child, but later suspects her fidelity and walks out. To save him, Seetha takes the blame for the murder of his friend Pattusamy.
