Synopsis
Nichaya Thaamboolam is a 1962 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film directed and produced by B.S. Ranga.
The film stars Sivaji Ganesan and Jamuna, and was released on February 9, 1962. It was also released in Telugu as Pelli Thambulam.
The plot revolves around Raghu, the son of senior police officer Ranganathan, who falls in love with Seetha from a poor family. Despite their estrangement due to social status, the families agreed on a betrothal exchange (Nichaya Thamboolam). After marriage and having a child, Raghu suspects Seetha of infidelity and leaves her. He is later implicated in the murder of his friend Pattusamy, leading Seetha to take responsibility for the crime.
