Nandu is a 1981 Indian Tamil-language film written and directed by Mahendran, starring Ashwini alongside newcomer Suresh.
The film is based on the 1975 novel of the same name by Sivasankari and follows the story of Ramkumar Sharma, an engineer suffering from asthma in Lucknow. He relocates to Madras (Tamil Nadu) after a conflict with his autocratic father and secures a job, where he encounters Seetha.
Seetha resides as a tenant in a large house, and Ramkumar finds himself leasing a space within the same house. The film was released on April 17, 1981, but unfortunately did not achieve commercial success upon its release.
The score by Ilayaraja is notable for saving the day, despite the film's overall disappointing reception.
